What Does Social Value Mean at NDCT?
Nailsea & District Community Transport (NDCT) does far more than get people from A to B.
We provide essential transport that helps local people:
✅ Stay independent
✅ Feel connected
✅ Access vital services
✅ Live healthier, happier lives
This wider impact is what we call social value.
Real Examples of Our Social Value:
- A £7 shopping trip means someone can buy groceries, collect prescriptions, and manage their own affairs — staying independent, healthy and out of crisis.
- A journey to hospital prevents missed appointments, saving the NHS hundreds and ensuring people get the care they need.
- A trip to a lunch club helps someone feel less lonely for the week.
- Safe and supported transport to a memory club helps people with dementia socialise, stay active, and retain vital skills
- A day trip on the bus with others offers friendship, fresh experiences and a boost to mental wellbeing.
Why It Matters
Every mile we drive adds value to our community — reducing pressure on the NHS, social care and families. We use a Social Value Toolkit to measure our impact in real terms — but the greatest value is often seen in people’s smiles, confidence and wellbeing.
NDCT works in partnership with local councils to deliver services
